Xiaomi and Samsung are titans of the tech world, having carved out considerable success in the smartphone and home appliance sectors. They also hit the floor-care device market with various technologically advanced stick vacuums. Today, I will compare the Xiaomi G10 vs Samsung Jet 90, two best sellers in their respective line-ups.
The Samsung Jet 90 is the overall winner. What impressed me the most was its smart self-standing charging station, which can charge two batteries simultaneously, and a clean station, which simplifies emptying the dustbin. Additionally, it shows its chameleon-like adaptability across diverse cleaning situations, thanks to the two floorheads bundled in the package and its impressive arsenal of attachments.
The Xiaomi G10 is also a tech-rich machine but doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Its performance is mediocre, but excluding the challenge of handling extra large debris, it delivers satisfactory results. It is lightweight, easy to use, and has a handy digital screen.

Xiaomi G10 Vs Samsung Jet 90: Differences
At the end of the day, the Samsung Jet 90 emerged victorious over the Xiaomi G10, achieving a resounding score of 3-1. Now, let’s delve deeper into the details to uncover more valuable insights!
Cleaning Performance
Winner: Samsung Jet 90
Suction Power & Floorhead
The maximum power of the Samsung Jet 90 is up to 200 AW. Although it may not reign as Samsung’s most dominant contender (that honor lies with the reigning Samsung Bespoke Jet – 210 AW), its suction prowess remains unrivaled in the realm of stick vacuum cleaners. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi G10 is also quite impressive, boasting a formidable maximum suction power of 150 AW, on par with the Dyson V11.
The Samsung Jet 90 comes out of the box with a duo of floorheads, a Soft Action Brush & a Turbo Action Brush – one dedicated to hard floors and the other for carpets. The Xiaomi G10, on the other hand, comes with a multi-surface floorhead called the “smart” high-torque floor brush.
Hard Floor
With the soft roller attached, the Samsung Jet 90 had no trouble cleaning my hard floors. It swiftly and easily removed all debris, even the larger ones, in a single pass – This is an excellent outcome that left no room for disappointment, which is often observed in models featuring soft rollers.
Sadly, the Xiaomi G10 was not as excellent as its competitor. It still captured all the small and fine debris without hassle but pushed the majority of the bulky debris around. The reason is that the gap between the front lip of its cleaning head and the floor is too narrow to sweep over large debris.
Carpet
On my carpets, the Samsung Jet 90 continued to impress with its remarkable performance. It still easily collected all large debris but left a moderate amount of smaller debris (about 8% on the low-pile carpet and approximately 10% on the high-pile one), resulting in extra passes to get rid of everything.
The Xiaomi G10, on the other hand, also quickly picked up almost all the fine and small debris – only about 1% of this type of debris was left behind. Yet again, it failed to pick up large debris.
Hair Test
This is the sole domain where the Xiaomi G10 truly reigns supreme – Both managed to collect all hair and hair on surfaces easily, but the Xiaomi G10 is ahead of the game thanks to its exceptional tangle resistance. Upon closer inspection of its floorhead, I noticed a row of small fangs akin to the polycarbonate teeth found in the Dyson V15. Paired with its V-shaped roller, this anti-wrap system did a great job of sending most of the vacuumed hair into the dustbin, making maintenance easier.

Attachments & Storage

In the same vein as numerous other wireless stick vacuums on the market, the Xiaomi G10 includes a dual-purpose wall mount that acts as both a charger and a holder for the vacuum. It comes equipped with a charging port for an extra battery but can only house two accessories, necessitating the storage of any additional tools elsewhere.
The method of wall-mounted storage is a perfect fit for compact living spaces. It keeps the vacuum out of the grasp of curious little hands and contributes to maintaining a clutter-free floor. However, if you’re not keen on making permanent holes in your walls, there’s an alternate solution at your disposal: plug the charger straight into the handheld part and stow away the rest somewhere safe.
The Samsung Jet 90, on the other hand, comes with a self-standing charging station, providing a secure spot for the vacuum to charge without the necessity of wall drilling. Once fully assembled (requiring some DIY steps), it will have a “Z” shape, which is the inspiration behind its “Z station” moniker. In addition, it also has a slot for the spare battery, allowing two batteries to be charged at the same time.
For individuals who shy away from putting holes in their walls, like me, this station is indeed a blessing. However, it’s not without its share of drawbacks. Its bulky footprint may pose a challenge when finding the perfect spot to situate it. Moreover, it lacks sufficient storage to house all the attachments.
Like the CordZero A9 Ultimate, the Samsung Jet 90 sports a telescopic wand. This feature allows for increasing its length to reach higher or collapsing it for more compact storage.
Weight & Maneuverability
Weighing under 5.5 pounds, the Xiaomi G10 is on the lighter end of the weight spectrum. The Samsung Jet 90 is slightly heavier at 6.8 pounds but still felt very light in my hand. They have smooth rotating heads, making maneuvering and turning on a dime a breeze.
In the portable handheld configuration, they are very compact and lightweight, allowing me to clean hard-to-reach and overhead areas with just one hand for long periods of time without strain or fatigue. However, if you’re of advanced age or have weaker arms, you might find the need to switch hands periodically.
Battery Life
The Xiaomi G10 vs Samsung Jet 90 is claimed to have an impressive battery life of up to 65 and 60 minutes, respectively. Sounds quite enticing, right? However, the unfortunate reality is that achieving this optimum battery life is often a pipe dream unless the vacuum is used with a non-motorized tool and consistently operated at the lowest power setting. Upon testing, I found that these machines run out of juice noticeably faster when operated with the floorhead attached:
Xiaomi G10 | Samsung Jet 90 | |
---|---|---|
Minimum Battery Life | ≈ 11 mins | ≈ 10 mins |
Maximum Battery Life | ≈ 49 mins | ≈ 42 mins |
Charging Time | ≈ 3.5 hours | ≈ 3.5 hours |
All these vacuum cleaners employ removable batteries, which allows for extending their runtime by swapping batteries – a feature highly recommended for multi-level home residents. However, it’s important to note that each unit only comes with a single battery, meaning the spare must be purchased separately. As previously highlighted, their charging stations are designed with a slot for an extra battery, allowing you to charge two batteries simultaneously.
Dustbin & Filtration System
Winner: Samsung Jet 90
The Xiaomi G10 features a 0.6-liter dustbin, while the Jet 90’s dust cup is slightly larger at 0.8 liters. Emptying the dust cup on the Xiaomi G10 is a cinch, with a simple push of a button getting the job done.
On the flip side, the process of emptying the Jet 90’s dust canister is a bit more convoluted, involving a few steps. I had to remove it from the handheld part, detach the microphone filter, separate the cyclone, and invert the dust cup – this procedure left a bit of dust on my hands.
The silver lining here is that such a messy process can be avoided thanks to the Jet 90’s Clean Station. Samsung engineers thoughtfully designed this stand-alone unit to make the dust cup emptying process more hygienic and easier.
All you need to do is place the dustbin on top of this tower, and all the contents will find their way down to a disposable dust bag inside. This dust bag shares similarities with those utilized in bagless vacuums and will have to be substituted with a fresh one (buy on Amazon) after approximately 2-3 emptying cycles. Of course, if you are comfortable with manually emptying the Jet 90’s dustbin, you can opt for a more budget-friendly package that doesn’t include the clean station.
The Xiaomi G10 features a HEPA filter that can capture even particles down to 0.3 micrometers. This filter is removable and washable, eliminating the need to concern yourself with recurring expenses related to filter replacements.
The Samsung Jet 90 boasts a remarkable 5-layer filtration system that effortlessly captures an impressive 99.999% of minuscule dust particles. This filtration system comprises a cyclone, a micro filter, and an exhaust HEPA filter – all are conveniently washable except for the HEPA-level filter. To clean the HEPA filter, just gently tap the trash can, freeing it from any accumulated dust and dirt.
Utilities
Winner: Xiaomi G10
User Interface & Control Method
Let’s start immediately with the Xiaomi G10’s display, which sits on the back of the handheld part. It allowed me to view some important information, including the current cleaning mode (Eco, Auto, and Boost) and battery level. And the display seamlessly transforms into a practical charging indicator when the vacuum is docked into the charging stand. Additionally, it allows you to choose from a remarkable selection of 11 different languages.
The Xiaomi G10 has a Dyson-like power trigger that needs to be pressed for power. But unlike Dyson sticks, you can keep the trigger in place (by pressing a button with a padlock icon) to release your index finger and give it a well-deserved rest while you continue vacuuming. Adjacent to it, you’ll find another button used to toggle between the three power settings.
As for the Samsung Jet 90, it also has a fancy digital display that shows the mode used (Min, Mid, Max, and Wet) and will alert if the pipe (or dustbin) is clogged, the roller is blogged, or the filter is installed incorrectly. Everything is great, but it would be better if this display showed the battery level – Instead, I occasionally had to divert my gaze toward the three small LEDs on the battery to check its status.
Auto Mode
In auto mode, the Xiaomi G10’s floorhead can automatically detect the floor type and adjust its speed for optimal performance – it spins faster on carpets and slower on hard floors. That’s why it’s called the “Smart” High-Torque Floor Brush.
Mop Ability
The Xiaomi G10 includes an attachment that can be mounted behind the multi-surface floorhead via a magnet mechanism. In this configuration, this one can vacuum and mop simultaneously.
You can also pair the Samsung Jet 90 with a spinning sweeper brush, allowing it to double as a mop when the “wet” mode is activated. However, it’s important to note that this attachment needs to be purchased separately, and you can find it conveniently available on platforms like Amazon.
I think this is just an emergency solution that should be used when you have little time available or want to clean a small surface. It’s not great enough to be considered a strong selling point that heavily influences decision-making between different options.
