Dyson V11 Torque Drive vs Torque Drive Plus: Differences
Here’s the deal: the Dyson V11 Torque Drive and Torque Drive Plus ain’t nothing but two peas in a pod, except for the attachments they bring along. The only thing that sets them apart is the accessories they come with.
Attachments
Dyson V11 Torque Drive | Dyson V11 Torque Drive Plus |
Docking station High Torque cleaner head Mini soft dusting brush Mini Motorized tool Crevice tool Stubborn dirt brush Combination tool Wand storage clip Charger | High Torque cleaner head Hair screw tool Combination tool Crevice tool Stubborn dirt brush Mini soft dusting brush Docking station Wand storage clip Charger Low-reach adaptor Light-pipe crevice tool |
When it comes to attachments, there ain’t a whole lot of difference between them. The normal Torque Drive rocks the Mini Motorized tool, but the Plus version? Nah, it ain’t got that.
But hold up, the Torque Drive Plus comes packing some cool stuff like the Hair screw tool, Low-reach adaptor, and Light-pipe crevice tool. Those are attachments that the normal Torque Drive version misses out on.
Mini motorized tool (on Torque Drive version)
It’s got a motorized brush bar packed into a compact head, perfect for obliterating the stubborn dirt particles lurking on mattresses, upholstery, and stairs.
I especially like this mini power brush for stairs. With the narrow steps, this mini tool is straight-up designed to dominate stair vacuuming. It’s like a match made in heaven, ya feel me?
Hair screw tool (on Torque Drive Plus version)
First of all, the hair screw tool. It is an anti-tangle conical brush bar that is specifically designed to gobble up long hair and pet hair. With motor-driven cleaning power, this tool is perfect for tackling those tight, small spaces. It’s like a whirlwind of cleaning awesomeness!
I tried to vacuum chunks of hair. There’s a gap at the end of the brush bar, and instead of detangling the hair, it ends up forming a massive hairball. But here’s the catch, if you’re not dealing with big hair clumps, you might just have better luck with it.
Low-reach adaptor (on Torque Drive Plus version)
This tool bends and flexes, allowing you to comfortably reach those low-down areas like under furniture and tight spots. It is engineered to go the extra mile by adjusting the wand angle up to a whopping 90°.
I always crave the ability to reach down low without bending over of Shark Stratos will have on the Dyson vacuum cleaner. And the dream comes true when this Plus version has this low-reach adapter. This attachment is a godsend, especially for the elderly or folks with back issues.
Light-pipe crevice tool (on Torque Drive Plus version)
The regular crevice tool is already quite useful, no doubt about it. However, there are spaces that are not only narrow but also dark, and you’ll wish you had a shining light to guide your way. Well, guess what? The light-pipe crevice tool is exactly what you’re looking for. It’s a crevice tool equipped with LED lights illuminating those tight and dim areas, making cleaning a breeze.
Dyson V11 Torque Drive vs Torque Drive Plus: Similarities
Cleaning Performance
Both Dyson V11 Torque Drive vs Torque Drive Plus are equipped with a powerful suction motor that provides remarkable suction power. They have a maximum suction power of 185AW. With this impressive suction power, you can expect them to effectively capture dirt, dust, and debris from different surfaces.
They only come with a High Torque cleaning head (now you can see it in a new name as Digital Motorbar floorheads). This cleaning head is specifically designed for multi-floor cleaning, making it suitable for a variety of surfaces. While it can be used on hard floors, I found that its performance is not as optimal as the soft roller specifically designed for hard floors.
They deliver remarkable results on hard floors. It effortlessly captures even the tiniest specks of debris and handles most larger debris with ease. Although it may require another pass to completely clear away larger debris.
Dyson V11 Torque Drive and Torque Drive Plus both are the cream of the crop for carpets, especially high-pile carpets. They effortlessly extract nearly every particle in their path, whether it’s the dust particles lingering on a short carpet or the debris deeply embedded in the pile of a high-pile carpet.
Dust Cup Capacity
These Dyson V11 come with a dustbin capacity of approximately 0.76 liters, which falls in the middle range—not too small and not particularly large. During my extensive cleaning sessions, I had to empty the dustbin some times, which can be a bit bothersome but is typical for stick vacuum cleaners.
Utilities
They both have a useful LCD screen on the top of the machine, which provides convenient access to important details during my cleaning sessions. It displays real-time information, including battery status, selected cleaning mode, filter maintenance alerts, and more
