In this article, I will thoroughly compare the key features of two cordless vacuum cleaners: Proscenic P11 vs Dyson V11. I read some reviews saying the former is even better than some Dyson vacuums. But it is not Dyson V11. I still lean towards giving the edge to the Dyson V11 in this comparison.
Dyson V11 comes out on top, as witnessed, firstly, in its excellent cleaning performance. It incorporates cutting-edge technologies, such as powerful motors that provide exceptional suction and dirt pickup. Additionally, Dyson V11 boasts a top-notch filtration system. If you prioritize reliability and high performance in a stick vacuum, Dyson V11 is the way to go, although it may come with a higher price tag.
Nevertheless, it’s important to note that Proscenic P11 is still a commendable stick vacuum option. Despite its affordability, it offers valuable features that enhance the cleaning experience. The inclusion of head-mounted LED lights on the main brush attachment and a detachable mop are excellent additions. If you are on a budget, Proscenic remains a great choice that provides good value for money.
Proscenic P11 vs Dyson V11: Comparison Chart
Proscenic P11 vs Dyson V11: Differences
Dyson V11 beats the Proscenic P11 by a score of 3-2 and 2 draws. The Dyson V11 has better cleaning performance, more advanced dustbin design. Furthermore, it exhibits better durability and comes with a more favorable warranty, providing added peace of mind to users.
Cleaning Performance
The Winner: Dyson V11
Suction Power
The Proscenic P11 boasts a powerful 450-watt brushless motor system, delivering exceptional suction power of up to 25,000Pa when set to its maximum settings.
When it comes to the Dyson V11, I’ve sung its praises time and time again. It stands head and shoulders above the rest as one of the most powerful cordless vacuum cleaners in the marketplace. It boasts a suction power that can reach a whopping 185 air watts in boost mode.
As you may have noticed, the two brands have different ways of measuring suction power. While Dyson emphasizes air watts, Proscenic defines its suction power in pascals.
But you can rest assured that their power is designed to handle any mess in your house, but when it comes to cleaning power, Dyson upright vacuum cleaners truly stand out. This will become even more apparent as we delve into their cleaning performance.
Suction Modes
Both the Dyson V11 and Proscenic P11 feature three power modes, offering users flexibility in their cleaning experience. The Dyson V11 offers Auto, Eco, and Boost modes, while the Proscenic P11 provides Eco, Auto, and Max modes. These power modes share similar functionalities and serve comparable purposes in optimizing cleaning performance.
- Eco Mode: conserves battery life by reducing suction power. It is suitable for light cleaning tasks or when you want to extend the runtime.
- Auto Mode: In this mode, the vacuums intelligently adjust their suction power based on the detected surface type. They automatically adapt between hard floors and carpets for optimal cleaning.
- Turbo Mode and Max Mode: This mode provides maximum suction power for intensive cleaning. It is useful for tackling stubborn dirt, pet hair, or heavily soiled areas.
I often use Proscenic P11 at the Eco. Even at this lowest power setting, the vacuum had no struggles at all with quickly sweeping up small or larger debris. On the other hand, I found using the Auto mode when using Dyson V11 to be highly effective in achieving my desired cleaning results.
Cleaner Head & Compatible Floor Type
Hard floor
Initially, I had some apprehensions about the absence of a Soft roller in both of these vacuum cleaners. However, to my surprise, the outcomes were quite impressive. In particular, the Dyson V11 made up for it by designing a cleaner head with two gates. I can adjust these two adjustable gates to accommodate the size of the dirt I’m dealing with, ensuring optimal cleaning performance.
About the Proscenic P11, I was pleasantly surprised when using it in Eco mode. I initially expected it to be slightly less powerful. I mean, it is, but it is still capable of effectively picking up small debris, such as coffee grounds. However, when dealing with larger debris like cereal, I used maximum mode, and I had to make a few additional passes to vacuum them fully.
The Dyson V11 features a Digital Motorbar cleaner head, which, while not specifically designed for hard floor cleaning, still delivers remarkable results on such surfaces. It effortlessly captures even the tiniest specks of debris and handles most larger debris with ease. Although it may require another pass to clear away larger debris completely, it is still marginally more convenient than the Proscenic P11.
Carpet
Unfortunately, the Proscenic P11 falls short when it comes to vacuuming carpets. It often proves ineffective, unable to pick up powder and merely spreading it around.
On the flip side, the Dyson V11 has been reviewed countless times as the cream of the crop for high-pile carpets. It effortlessly extracts nearly every particle in its path, whether it’s the dust particles lingering on a short carpet or the debris deeply embedded in the pile of a high-pile carpet.
When it comes to effectively cleaning carpets, the Dyson V11 is unmatched. If you need of a reliable carpet cleaning solution, Dyson is the clear and obvious choice.
Design & Convenience
The Winner: Tie
On/Off Control
One notable advantage of the Proscenic is that I don’t need to hold the power lever while vacuuming continuously. With a single press of the trigger, I can activate the vacuum, and pressing it again turns it off. This is a significant benefit as compared to the Dyson V11, where I need to keep my finger on the power lever at all times, which becomes tiresome after a few minutes.
However, there is one aspect of the Proscenic P11’s operation that you may find slightly uncomfortable. The placement of the power toggle beneath the P11’s handgrip can be a bit inconvenient. After turning on the vacuum, the natural resting position of the hand is below the power button, but the spacing beneath the trigger feels somewhat cramped. While this is not a major drawback, it is worth mentioning for users to consider.
Battery
While the Dyson V11 offers a longer battery life in ECO and AUTO modes, the Proscenic P11 shines in terms of quick charging and better battery life in MAX mode. The details of their battery life are illustrated as follows:
Battery Life | Proscenic P11 | Dyson V11 |
Eco Mode | 47 min | 66 min |
Auto Mode | 27 min | 43 min |
Max or Boost Mode | 13 min | 8 min |
Indeed, the auto-adjusting suction power feature of the Dyson V11 demonstrates superior efficiency compared to the Proscenic P11. This AUTO mode is also my most frequently used setting as it capably handles all my cleaning demands.
Both the Proscenic P11 and Dyson V11 come equipped with removable batteries, affording the option to purchase additional replacement batteries for extended usage. I strongly recommend purchasing an additional separate battery for either the Proscenic P11 or a separate battery for the Dyson V11 for an uninterrupted cleaning experience.
Without a spare battery, you will have to wait about 4.5 hours for Dyson V11 to fully recharge. But with Proscenic, it only takes about 2.5 hours because It has quick charging technology. This has been among my favorite features because even with 20 minutes of charging, I am gonna get enough juice to do cleaning for at least 10 minutes in Eco mode.
Despite these benefits, I do hold some reservations regarding the potential impact of fast charging on the longevity of the Proscenic P11’s battery. Rapid charging could potentially reduce the battery’s life cycle significantly over time.
Dustbin
The Winner: Dyson V11
Dustbin Capacity
Dyson V11 possesses a commendably large dustbin capacity, around 0.76 liters. This capacity was rather beneficial during my extensive cleaning sessions. It allowed me to tackle larger areas or messier circumstances without the constant need to empty the bin. This freedom from frequent emptying is a boon, particularly when time is at a premium or I am engrossed in a thorough cleanup.
Turning to the Proscenic P11, its dustbin capacity is slightly lower, approximately 0.65 liters. Even so, I found this space to be sufficient for my routine cleaning activities. However, during more intensive cleaning tasks, such as dealing with a high-volume mess, I noticed the need to empty it more often, causing minor interruptions in the cleaning process.
Emptying The Dustbin
To empty Proscenic P11’s dustbin, you must initially detach it from the body by pressing a release button located on both sides of the dustbin simultaneously. Following this, a steady pull dislodges the dustbin from its position, allowing you to empty it. While this procedure is relatively straightforward, it does require a bit of manual manipulation, which could be deemed cumbersome by some.
Moreover, one must exercise caution during the emptying process. I discovered, quite messily, that tilting the dustbin improperly can lead to unwanted spills – not exactly what one expects from a cleaning device!
In contrast, the Dyson V11 promotes a “point and shoot” design to simplify the dustbin emptying process. It’s a notable difference, as you don’t need to detach the dustbin first. Furthermore, I was pleased to find the dustbin design of the Dyson V11 a boon for allergy sufferers like myself. It disposes of the collected dust and debris in a hygienic manner, preventing dust clouds that can trigger allergies. The entire process is remarkably hassle-free and efficient.
Utilities
The Winner: Proscenic P11
Display
Proscenic P11 and the Dyson V11 include digital displays. Both models relay essential information, such as the working modes, battery life, and maintenance alerts.
However, while the Proscenic P11 boasts an LED screen, the Dyson V11 incorporates an LCD display. Personally, I find the LCD screen of the Dyson V11 more appealing, offering a wider spectrum of colors, as opposed to the white-only display of the Proscenic. Still, the Proscenic looks modern, intuitive, and minimal.
The Dyson V11 employs a physical button, giving it a somewhat retro feel. In contrast, the Proscenic P11 takes a more futuristic approach with a touch button on the screen, making it a tantalizing option for those who favor a more tech-savvy feel.
Smartphone App
The Dyson V11 does not offer compatibility with a dedicated mobile app. The absence of an app might be perceived as a drawback to some users who value the added benefits it provides.
On the other hand, the P11 takes advantage of the Proscenic app, offering a range of functionalities such as cleaning records, accessory replacement reminders, and customer support. However, I encountered a slight setback during my experience with the P11’s app connectivity. The vacuum would only connect to the app when its battery was fully charged. Consequently, I found myself seldom utilizing the app and did not miss anything essential when lacking this feature.
Mopping Function
By attaching the provided velcro strips and filling the designated water compartment, we can seamlessly transition the Proscenic P11 from vacuuming to mopping. The motorized head effortlessly slots into place, secured by magnets, ensuring a secure fit during operation.
However, it will not be too divine as I expected. If I have a lot of dirt on the floor, this mopping path just makes that dirt wet, and It’s just going to be harder for me to get rid of them. So, vacuuming the floor before you put the mop onto the vacuum should be done.
Price
The Winner: Proscenic P11
The Proscenic P11 is priced at around $200, while the Dyson V11 comes in at approximately $400.
However, considering the price discrepancy, it’s essential to analyze the features and performance of both vacuums to determine which one offers better value for the investment.
While the Proscenic P11 comes at a more affordable price, it does not necessarily mean that it compromises functionality or effectiveness. In fact, the P11 has garnered positive reviews for its performance in various cleaning tasks, proving to be a reliable and efficient vacuum.
On the other hand, the Dyson V11, with its higher price tag, boasts a reputation for exceptional quality and cutting-edge technology.
If only in terms of price, it is clear that Proscenic will be the choice of more budget-friendly when its price is only about half that of the Dyson V11.
Durability & Warranty
The Winner: Dyson V11
The Proscenic P11 is a viable and budget-friendly alternative to a Dyson vacuum. Still, its reliability should be taken into account, particularly when it only has a limited one-year warranty. If the vacuum ceases to function, you’ll find yourself searching for a replacement. Adhering to the wise adage of “buy once, cry once,” I highly recommend investing in the pricier Dyson V11. It’ll be cheaper in the long run rather than having to replace this vacuum each year.
Dyson has built a reputation for exceptional customer service and a strong commitment to sustainability. As a renowned brand, Dyson instills confidence in the quality of its products. I trust that Dyson will deliver both in terms of performance and longevity, ensuring that their customers are not left disappointed.
