Tineco Pure One S11 Spartan Vs Tineco Pure One S11: Differences

The key distinction among these three versions lies in the attachments and accessories they include. Let’s take a look:

Let’s start with the LED soft-roller power brush. Unlike the LED multi-tasker power brush, this one is specialized for cleaning hard floors. The results of my trial revealed that, with this cleaning head, the Spartan model was as efficient as a hot knife through butter, clearing all debris, big and small, in just one clean sweep. Without it, the Pure One S11 struggled with larger debris: Its multi-tasker power brush seemed more adept at scattering the bulk of this debris than completely removing it.

The mini power brush is also a welcome addition. It’s basically a smaller version of the multi-tasker power brush, and I found it very useful in cleaning smaller areas such as stairs and sofas.

Ultimately, I was very impressed with the pre-filter cleaning accessory, which isn’t something you often see.  Living up to its name, it efficiently cleans the pre-filter, freeing up my hands and eliminating the need for water. Just insert the pre-filter into this tool, attach it to the handheld unit, install the spare pre-filter, and turn on the vacuum.

Battery life

The manufacturer claims that the Tineco Pure One S11 can work uninterrupted for up to 40 minutes between charges, but this duration is only feasible when the vacuum is used with a suction-only tool and set to the lowest power level. With the main nozzle attached, it guzzles the battery at a rate that makes the initial claim seem like a pie in the sky.

Maximum Battery Life≈  29 mins
Minimum Battery Life≈  11 mins
Charging Time≈ 3.5 hours

As you can see, at the maximum setting, the vacuum runs out of battery extremely fast. That’s why I highly recommend spending money on a spare battery. In addition to having room for three attachments, the included wall-mounted dock also has a slot for a second battery. That means if you have two batteries on hand, they can be charged simultaneously.

Weight & Maneuverability

Tipping the scales at around 5.78 pounds, the Tineco Pure One S11 is one of the lightest models I’ve ever touched. Naturally, ferrying it up and down stairs or steering it was as easy as pie. However, when it came to making sharp turns, it didn’t outperform the Dyson models.

In the semi-portable configuration, it weighs only about 3.4 pounds and felt like a toy in my hand. It’s one of the few models that I’ve been able to use with one hand for long periods of time without getting tired.

Its main nozzle had LED headlights, which came in handy when I cleaned under the furniture. But it can’t lie completely flat like the Dyson V15, so I had a bit of a hard time trying to get further under some low-clearance things.

Dustbin & Filtration System

The Pure One S11 comes outfitted with a 0.5-liter dustbin, which sits in the middle of the capacity spectrum. Emptying it is easy with the push of a button, and I found myself having to remove clumps of dirty hair with my hands a few times.

Its filtration is not completely sealed, but my fog test has shown that the leakage is very negligible. It has two filters: the pre-motor filter, which is inside the dustbin, and the HEPA filter, which is found in a slot above the handheld part. The HEPA filter should be rinsed under running water every month. Meanwhile, the pre-motor should be cleaned after each use with the pre-filter cleaning tool.

Utilities

User Interface & Control Method

There is a big circle LED screen on top of the handheld unit that will highlight if the air channel is blocked, the roller is tangled,  the WiFi is connected, or the dust sensor needs to be cleaned. Better yet, there is a dust sensor loop that can change color according to the actual dust density in a particular area. I love this feature because it tells me when I should spend extra minutes vacuuming.

The Pure One S11 is also equipped with an on/off trigger. But instead of constantly holding it down for power, as I did with the Dyson V15, I could keep it in place by flipping a small switch. There is no need to constantly depress the trigger, which means my finger never gets tired.

There is a button near the screen used to switch between the two modes: Max & Auto. When in auto mode, the vacuum can continuously change its suction according to the dust particle density detected by the iLoop smart sensor. It works similarly to the piezo sensor on the two latest Dyson sticks, but it is available even when the vacuum is used with a non-motorized tool.

App Connectivity

Through a dedicated app and a stable wifi connection, I could sync the Pure One S11 to my smartphone. Here, I could monitor every aspect of the vacuum, including battery life, filter status, and the condition of the dustbin. Better yet, there was a slider that allowed me to have more control over the vacuum’s suction. This slider is physically placed on the handheld unit of the Pure One S12.
