Dyson dominates the stick vacuum cleaner market with its exceptional range of high-quality models. The introduction of the latest models, the Dyson V15 and V12, has also solidified their unrivaled position in this realm. In contrast, Jimmy seems relatively new, and their products appear nonexistent in the US market. If they intend to enter this lucrative market, they must have a competitive position with big hitters like Dyson. So can Jimmy do that? My comparison of the Jimmy H9 Pro vs Dyson V11 will show you.
The Jimmy H9 Pro, surprisingly, emerges victorious in this contest. I’d say that this beast brings to the table everything you want from a high-end cordless stick vacuum: good overall cleaning performance, a rich set of attachments, ease of maneuvering, and much more. I bet it will quickly become an integral companion of neat freaks globally.
The Dyson V11 has been the most powerful and intelligent model of the brand. Nowadays, although this mantle has been transferred to V15 and V12, it is still the first option for many people, especially those who can’t afford the two latest Dyson models.

Jimmy H9 Pro Vs Dyson V11: Differences
The H9 Pro pulled off a victory, outpacing the Dyson V11 with a 3-1. What makes the first one a Dyson killer? The short answer is that it outperforms in performance, boasts a superior accessory set, enjoys extended battery life, and more.
Cleaning Performance
Winner: Jimmy H9 Pro
Suction Power & Floorhead
The peak suction power of the Jimmy H9 Pro vs Dyson V11 is 200 AW and 185 AW, respectively. Does this gap mean the H9 Pro performs better than the Dyson V11? No! Not exactly – this AW parameter isn’t really representative of how well a vacuum performs. So don’t let it mislead you.
While on the subject of the included cleaning head, the Dyson V11 Torque Drive comes with a multi-surface floorhead called a “High Torque cleaner head.” If you opt for the V11 Absolute version (which is unavailable in the US), you will get a soft roller from the box.
The Jimmy H9 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a floorhead but two removable and interchangeable rollers: soft roller floorhead and carpet brushroll. Hence, whenever you move from a hard floor to a carpet and vice versa, you’ll have to swap rollers for optimal performance. This is a breeze. Just press a small unlock button to detach a piece of plastic and then take the roller out.
Hard Floor
With the well-built soft roller installed, the H9 Pro had no difficulty collecting everything from handrails to larger ones. I tried stepping bare feet on the cleaning path right after the first pass and found absolutely nothing clung to them.
The Dyson V11, on the other hand, did a great job of removing fine and small debris. To tackle especially large debris (such as cereals and fruit loops), I had to slide a red slider on the nozzle to the “+” position, which fully opens two gates there. Then I had to wiggle the vacuum to pick up those large crumbs deftly.
Carpet
With the nylon bristles roller attached and auto mode on, the H9 Pro could handle debris of all sizes elegantly on my low-pile carpet and left a spotless path without any visible dirt. On high carpet, I had to make an extra pass to pick up everything – still a very cool result from this good-looking guy. Avoiding using boost mod to clean carpets since the overkill suction generated can make it difficult to push the vacuum.
Likewise, I set the Dyson V11 in auto mode and got amazing results – it picks up 100% of debris on my low-pile carpet and about 99% on high-pile one (just leaves a very small amount of fine debris).
Hair Test
I’d like to say that both the Jimmy H9 Pro vs Dyson V11 are real panacea, especially for pet owners, not only because of how well they pick up pet hair but also how effectively they reduce tangled hair.
One of Dyson’s appreciated features present on the V11’s nozzle – polycarbonate teeth, which are designed to tackle troublesome tangles. It did a great job sending the majority of vacuum hair/fur into the dust bin and left only a small amount of long hair. Likewise, the H9 Pro soft roller is all-foam engineered to avoid getting wrapped hair, while its carpet brushroll features a combing strip structure that can avoid the embarrassment of entanglement when capturing hair/fur.

Attachments & Storage
Jimmy H9 Pro | Dyson V11 |
---|---|
Electric soft roller floorhead Carpet brushroll Electric mattress head 2-in-1 2-in-1 upholstery tool crevice tool Soft brush Connector Stretch hose Charger Battery charging holder Charging stand Removable battery (X1) | High Torque cleaner head Stubborn dirt brush Mini soft dusting brush Combination tool Mini Motorized tool Crevice tool Wand storage clip Docking station & Charger Removable battery (x1) |
As someone who is against chiseling and drilling walls, I’m glad the H9 Pro comes with a self-standing charging station. It can stand firmly on the floor like the Samsung Jet 90‘s Z station but doesn’t have a charging slot for the spare battery. In return, all attachments can be neatly stored here.
The Dyson V11, on the other hand, comes with a wall mount. If screwed to the wall, it can provide a safe and organized storage spot for the vacuum and two attachments and keep them out of the reach of pets and children. That said, it can’t house all the attachments and tools, so you’ll need to keep the rest somewhere.
Weight & Maneuverability
The Dyson V11 delivers 6.7 lbs to the scale, which is neither too heavy nor particularly light. In the handheld configuration, it is more compact and lighter. But when using it to clean the ceiling, almost the entire weight of the vacuum was on my hand, resulting in some hand fatigue within approximately thirty minutes.
The H9 Pro feels solid, showing that it can stand the test of time. It is on the heavy side with a weight of 8.5 pounds. Unlike most cord-free stick vacuums, the H9 Pro has an upper handle structure that allows users to clean for a long time without too much stress and burden, and my experience personally showed the same. In the handheld configuration, it also did feel a bit top-heavy in my hand. So I’m afraid that using it to clean high areas is impossible for the elderly.
One aspect of the H9 Pro’s design that I particularly appreciate is its bendable wand. Thanks to this creative design, I didn’t have to crouch down to clean low places and hidden corners as I did with the Dyson V11, making the H9 Pro quite friendly to people with bad backs. Both have swivel heads that make getting in and out of tight areas as easy as pie.
Battery Life
By utilizing the non-motorized attachments and activating the lowest power mode, the Jimmy H9 Pro vs Dyson V11 is said to be able to run continuously for up to 80 and 60 minutes. However, as both you and I are aware, we typically rely on the main nozzle for our cleaning tasks, which makes the vacuum run out of juice significantly faster, depending on the mode selected. So the real-life results are somewhat far from what the manufacturers claim:
Jimmy H9 Pro | Dyson V11 | |
---|---|---|
Maximum Battery Life | ≈ 64 mins | ≈ 54 mins |
Minimum Battery Life | ≈ 17 mins | ≈ 9 mins |
Charging Time | ≈ 4.5 hours | ≈ 4 hours |
The battery life of the H9 Pro is very impressive, and I believe that a single fully charged battery is enough for most small and medium households. But if you live in a colossal-sized house, you might need an extra battery (which doesn’t come out in the box). The battery can be charged without being installed in the vacuum – Just put it on the included charging holder. With two batteries on hand, you can also charge them at once.
Likewise, the Dyson V11 uses a battery that can be removed with a click (that’s why it’s called a click-in battery). The battery can be charged externally, so if you have a second one (buy on Amazon), you can easily switch to extend the vacuum’s runtime.
Dustbin & Filtration System
Winner: Dyson V11
The Dyson V11’s dustbin can hold up to 0.75 liters of dirt, slightly bigger than the Jimmy H9 Pro’s 0.6-liter dirt tank. While emptying the first one is easy and hygienic, cleaning the second one is a bit awkward and dirty.
To empty the V11’s dustbin, just remove the top position from the main pipe and push a lever down, and all the content will fall straight to the trash below. Dyson calls this mechanism “point and shoot,” and I know why. I found it quite similar to the reloading mechanism of a shotgun (if you ever play an FPS game like Half-Life or Crossfire, you know what I mean).
As for the Jimmy H9 Pro, I had to open a release latch on the bottom of its 0.6-liter dust canister, and a bit of dirt ended up on my fingers. Also, I found some clumps of hair and dust that got stuck due to the cyclone’s position. Of course, I had to remove them by hand.
There is a HEPA filter snap into the back of the Dyson V11’s handheld part. Along with the sealed system, it can keep up to 99.99% of microparticles, keeping your indoor environment clean and dust-free. The golden rule is to give this filter a clean under the tap once a month but rinse it whenever the LCD screen alerts you.
The Jimmy H9 Pro’s filtration system includes a cyclone and HEPA filter. All of them are washable and must be allowed to dry completely before being placed back into the machine.
Utilities
Winner: Jimmy H9 Pro
User Interface
Both the Jimmy H9 Pro vs Dyson V11 have intelligent LED screens that show the current battery level and the selected mode, but the V11’s screen takes the lead with filter status and some other important notifications. Moreover, it resides in an exceedingly convenient locale, enabling me to monitor the current status of the vacuum effortlessly.
The Dyson V11 requires continuously pressing down a pistol-like trigger to keep it running. This design is really annoying for people with weak hands or who wear jewelry. There is a button on the screen that is used to switch between modes.
Turning the H9 Pro on/of and controlling it, on the other hand, is easier and more ergonomically comfortable. There are two buttons on the handler and within reach of the thumb: one to power the vacuum and one to select the desired mode.
Cleaning Modes
The H9 Pro has four power modes: eco, turbo, auto, and MAX. Likewise, apart from the two settings, “eco” and “boost,” the Dyson V11 has an “auto” mode as well. When auto mode is on, both the Jimmy H9 Pro vs Dyson V11 can automatically detect the floor type and adjust the power for optimal performance. It’s worth noticing that this mode is only available when the main nozzle is attached.
