Dyson V11 vs Xiaomi Dreame V10: Although the Dyson V11 is no longer Dyson’s best-of-line stick vacuum (this mantle is currently held by the V15), it can still knock out countless models out there, including the Xiaomi Dreame V10.
The Dyson V11 is truly a beast. It was built on the success of its predecessor and added some new punches: Dynamic Load Sensor (DLS), de-tang technology, and a high-tech LCD screen. It’s still exorbitantly expensive, but it clearly has enough reason to justify its sky-high price tag!
The Xiaomi Dreame V10, a mid-range marvel, is a perfect pick for those seeking a cyclonic cordless vacuum without breaking the bank. This model comes decked out with various handy accessories and shines on hard floors. However, with only a soft roller included, it’s not ideal for carpet cleaning.

Dyson V11 Vs Xiaomi Dreame V10: Differences
The Dyson V11 beat the Dreame V10 with a solid 4-0 victory. Does that mean the second one is trash? Well, not really!
Cleaning Performance
Winner: Dyson V11
Suction Power & Floorhead
Maxing out at 185 AW on its highest power setting, the Dyson V11 nestles between the V12 and V15 – the two latest Dyson cordless sticks. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Dreame V10 is far behind at a maximum suction power of 140 AW, on par with the Dyson V10.
The Dyson V11 comes with a High Torque cleaner head. Unlike the Direct-Drive nozzle of older models, it is equipped with de-tang technology and two adjustable gates. The Dreame V10, on the other hand, only comes with a soft roller brush, which works best on hard floors.
Hard Floor
Dyson V11 had an excellent performance on my hard floor. It effortlessly picked up all the small and medium debris. The larger debris required a bit more effort – I had to fully open two gates on the nozzle and wiggle the vacuum a bit. If you opt for the V11 Absolute version, you will get a soft roller, which makes things easier on this type of surface.
As expected, the Xiaomi Dreame V10 deftly handles debris of all sizes, delivering a spotless floor with just a single sweep. This one is really Chef’s Kiss on this type of surface. There was a minor hiccup: at its highest setting, the nozzle did scatter some fine debris forward, but by simply reducing the suction power, this issue was quickly resolved.
Carpet
The Dyson V11 really shone on my carpets. It removed all debris, including the large one, quickly and easily on my low-pile carpet and left behind only an almost imperceptible quantity of fine debris on the high carpet.
Regrettably, the Dreame V10 delivered a disappointing result here – it failed to pick up all the debris, especially the deep-seated ones, after many sweeps. Evidently, the soft roller isn’t ideally suited for tackling such tasks.
Design & Usability

Attachments & Storage
Dyson V11 | Xiaomi Dreame V10 |
---|---|
High Torque cleaner head Stubborn dirt brush Mini soft dusting brush Crevice tool Combination tool Mini Motorized tool Wand storage clip Docking station & Charger Removable battery (x1) | Soft Roller Brush Combination brush + upholstery tool Combination brush + crevice tool Mini turbo brush Flexible hose Docking station & Charger |
Like most stick vacuums, both the Dyson V11 and Xiaomi Dreame V10 conveniently need to be docked into wall brackets for storage and charging. Their dedicated docking stations not only provide an orderly solution for storing the vacuum and its various attachments while also maintaining clutter-free floor space. However, drilling into the wall might not be everyone’s preference. I always give props to models that come with a self-standing charging station, such as the Samsung Jet 90 or LG Cordzero.
The Dyson V11’s charging station has room for two attachments, and it is possible to put two other attachments (ideally the most frequently used ones) on the vacuum’s body via a wand storage clip, thereby ensuring easy accessibility during vacuuming. On the other hand, you can cleverly place all the accessories on the Dreame V10’s wall charging bracket.
Weight & Maneuverability
The Dyson V11 and the Xiaomi Dreame V10 tip the scales at approximately 6.7 lbs and 5.5 lbs, respectively. While there is a noticeable difference here, both models generally fall on the lighter side of the spectrum. The Xiaomi Dreame shared the design with the Dyson V7 and V8, but it felt inferior steering in my hands.
In the handheld configuration, the lighter body of the Dreame V10 is a game changer. I found that I could comfortably use it to tidy up overhead areas with just one hand for over 30 minutes without experiencing any discomfort. As for the Dyson V11, I had to alternate hands to maintain comfort.
Battery Life
Both the Dyson V11 vs Xiaomi Dreame V10 are touted to offer a runtime of 60 minutes at the lowest power setting when equipped with a non-motorized tool. So I tried each one with the main nozzle, which we use most of the time, and here’s what I observed:
Dyson V11 | Xiaomi Dreame V10 | |
---|---|---|
Maximum Battery Life | ≈ 54 mins | ≈ 40 mins |
Minimum Battery Life | ≈ 9 mins | ≈ 8 mins |
Charging Time | ≈ 4 hours | ≈ 4 hours |
For those residing in larger homes, a single full charge may not suffice to complete a thorough cleaning. That’s not a problem for the Dyson V11 since it uses a removable battery, replace a dead battery with a spare one (buy on Amazon or Dyson’s website) to say goodbye to downtime.
Sadly, the Dreame V10’s battery isn’t removable. So if the vacuum runs out of juice midway through a cleaning cycle, your only choice is to pause and wait for approximately 4 hours for it to recharge fully, which extends the overall time required to complete your tasks. For those with a perpetually bustling schedule, this is a very big deal-breaker!
Dustbin & Filtration System
Winner: Dyson V11
Another crucial factor to consider when purchasing a vacuum cleaner is the size of its dustbin. A smaller dust receptacle necessitates more frequent trips to the larger trash can for emptying, extending the total time dedicated to your vacuuming tasks.
The Dreame V10 sports a 0.6-liter dust canister, which isn’t large but isn’t particularly small. The Dyson V11’s dust tank is slightly larger, with a capacity of 0.75 liters – While a 1.5-liter difference might not dramatically sway your purchasing decision, it is well worth mentioning.
To empty the Dreame V10’s dustbin, all you need to do is push a release button to open the hatch, and then all vacuumed dust and dirt will fall directly into the trash can underneath. My only gripe is that this button is positioned too close to the dustbin’s opening, which increases the likelihood of my hands getting dirty during the process.
On the other hand, emptying the Dyson V11’s dustbin is easier and more hygienic: after removing the wand from the handheld part, just push a lever down to eject all the contents (Dyson calls this mechanism with a funny name – “aim and shoot”).
These days, most vacuums, except for the “knock off ” ones, feature filtration systems that can trap more than 99% of micro-dust and allergens. But these filters can only serve their purpose if dirt and allergens are kept inside by a sealed system.
So regarding the filtration system, the Dyson V11 is truly a panacea for people with severe allergies since it includes a completely sealed system and a HEPA-level filter. Its filter can be washed and reused many times, but I highly recommend purchasing a spare one to minimize downtime from waiting for the filter to dry completely.
The Dreame V10’s filter itself includes two parts, a HEPA and a cylindrical foam filter, and all of them are washable. Better yet, this one also boasts a sealed system.

User Interface & Control Method
Excluding the V11 Animal model, all Dyson V11 cordless stick vacuums come equipped with a sophisticated LCD screen, which is actually practical instead of just a decorative add-on. It shows the battery level (in minutes instead of percentages) and the current power mode and alerts when there is a blockage in the main nozzle, or the filter needs to be cleaned. It is on the top of the handheld part, so you can keep an eye on your vacuum’s condition easily while vacuuming. There’s a small button on it to switch back and forth between three modes.
On the flip side, the Xiaomi Dreame V10 doesn’t feature any digital display. It comes with a simple three-way slide switch located on the top portion, serving the purpose of transitioning between different power modes.
The Dyson V11 vs Xiaomi Dreame V10 share a trigger that requires continuous pressing to activate and maintain the vacuum’s operation. This design is intended to optimize battery longevity, but it can lead to hand fatigue after prolonged use – not good for people with weak hands!
Power Modes
Dyson V11 includes three modes: eco, auto, and boost. What puts it at the forefront is auto mode, which empowers it to automatically adjust its suction power based on the type of surface detected by an advanced sensor. But this feature is only available when the High Torque cleaner head is attached.
The Dreame V10 has three power modes: “I,” “II,” and “Max.” The first two settings are ideal for vacuuming hard floors, while the other is intended for carpet cleaning. There is no mode where it can automatically adjust its suction.
