When it comes to vacuuming, Dyson, no doubt, is the king. But today, I will compare the Miele Triflex HX1 vs Samsung Jet 90, which comes from two less well-known brands in the industry. And after a period of weighing and counting, I realized that the second one was better.
There are plenty of inexpensive models out there, but there are always plenty of reasons to justify splurging on a high-end stick vacuum like the Samsung Jet 90. Yes, it’s exorbitantly expensive, but you’ll get class-leading cleaning performance, a rich set of attachments, a convenient Z Station charging dock, and a smart, clean tower.
The Miele Triflex HX1, on the other hand, isn’t budget-friendly either. But it offers ultimate versatility with its patented 3-in-1 design. But at its costly price, I was expecting more.

Miele Triflex HX1 Vs Samsung Jet 90: Differences
After evaluating these two models across four factors, I obtained the following outcome: The Samsung Jet 90 wins 2-1 and ties once against the Samsung Jet 90.
Cleaning Performance & Floorhead
Winner: Samsung Jet 90
Suction Power & Floorhead
When maximum suction is concerned, the Jet 90 maxes out at 200 AW, 5% less than the Bespoke Jet – the most powerful model of the Jet series. The Miele Triflex HX1, on the other hand, is also incredibly strong at 185 AW – on par with the Dyson V11.
The Miele Triflex only comes with a basic multi-surface brush roll called Multifloor XXL electro brush, and I didn’t discover a special roller brush with it. The Samsung Jet 90, on the other hand, has two floorheads: the Turbo Action Brush and the Soft Action Brush – The Turbo Action Brush is an all-purpose floorhead that is great for digging up dirt from carpets, while the other is suited for hard floors.
Hard Floor
The Jet 90 performed very well on my hard floor. On max mode, it removed 100% of debris of all sizes, proving its tremendous suction power and the great effect of the soft roller on this surface.
The Triflex HX1 just worked great with fine and small debris, but it struggled with larger ones since its nozzle’s clearance was not high enough to sweep over them. If you opt for the Triflex HX1 Pro version, you will receive a soft roller specially designed for this surface type.
Carpet
When cleaning my low-pile carpet, its performance was still maintained pretty well – almost all the large debris was picked up, but a moderate amount of fine debris was left behind. Also, it spat out a small amount after it shut off. So I had to turn it on to capture the rest.
On both my low and high-pile carpets, the Triflex HX1 excelled with high scores across the board. My test revealed that it captured almost all the debris and didn’t leave any visible debris behind.
Hair Tets
Both the Miele Triflex HX1 vs Samsung Jet 90 can deal with hair/fur without hassle. But their multi-surface rollers don’t have any combs to prevent tangles. As a result, they couldn’t resist the long hair strands, which I had to remove by hand at the end of the day.

A common issue with most stick vacuums, including the Samsung Jet 90, is that they can’t stand upright themselves (since they’re top-heavy). But that is not the case with the Triflex HX1.
By moving the dust cup and motor assembly (or PowerUnit, as Miele calls it) downwards near the floor, the Triflex HX1 looks like a slim upright vacuum. In this configuration, it can stand upright independently without leaning against a wall or furniture. So if you need to pause your vacuuming task to answer the phone or look for the attachments, just leave it standing on the floor by itself. If you’re okay with drilling into the wall, you can install the included wall mount, which will keep the vacuum and accessories organized and keep your floors clutter-free.
As for the Jet 90, unlike its predecessors, it comes with a Z station instead of a wall mount. It can stand on its own, so it could score some brownie points with folks living in rental apartments, where chiseling and drilling into the wall is an impossible option.
This base is not pre-assembled, so assembling it will involve a bit of DIY. But don’t worry! You don’t have to be an expert with in-depth knowledge to get the job done! It took me under 15 minutes to make it ready to use.
On the downside, it is a big, bulky tower that will take up quite a bit of space. I would give its bulky footprint a nod if it could house all the attachments like the All-in-One tower of the LG Cordzero Kompressor, but it doesn’t.
Weight & Maneuverability
The Miele Triflex HX1 weighs about 8.1 pounds, which puts it on the top end of the stick vacuum’s weight spectrum. And as the intro mentioned, the Triflex HX1 can be used in three different configurations, depending on the position of the dustbin. Each has its own pros and cons.
Its default configuration is, of course, a stick vacuum, where the dust cup is on top. In this configuration, I could easily go further under the interior and capture all the dust and dirt there – it would be better if the manufacturer threw some LED bulbs into the nozzle. With the proper fitting mounted, I could also reach higher to clean the ceiling and bookshelves. What are its pros? The motor and dustbin assembly are on top, so most of the vacuum’s weight was in my hands, making them get tired quickly.
By having the dust cup lower and near the floorhead, the Triflex HX1 can be used as an upright vacuum. In this configuration, it can stand on its own, as I said earlier, and I found it easier to maneuver since most of the weight went down to the floor. But it couldn’t get under the low-clearance furniture.
Finally, the Triflex HX1 can be used as a portable handheld vacuum, which is the most compact and lightest. It is ideal for cleaning stairs and tight areas, but it can’t be used to clean large areas.
I wish it were simpler to switch back and forth between these three configurations – I had to entirely disassemble the vacuum and then reassemble it, which expanded the time I spend vacuuming daily.
Weighing in at a mere 6.2 pounds if fully assembled, the 90 Jet is designed to go around easily. Carrying it up and down stairs is a pain-free task without causing any pain or aches. It will be even lighter and more portable when reconfigured as a handheld vacuum.

Both the Miele Triflex HX1 vs Samsung Jet 90 have a claimed battery life of up to 60 minutes at low power without the main nozzle. My tests showed that they drain the battery slightly faster when the floorhead is attached than the manufacturer’s quoted specifications. On the highest power mode, which is ideal for dealing with stubborn messes, they run out of juice very quickly.
Luckily, these beasts use removable batteries, allowing you to bid farewell to those extended waiting periods for the vacuum to reach full charge. The spare battery for the Miele Triflex HX1 and Jet 90’s extra battery can be easily purchased on Amazon. With two fully charged batteries on hand, you can easily double the vacuum’s runtime. They are costly, but they’re worth it!
Dust Cup & Filtration System

Miele Triflex HX1 vs Samsung Jet 90’s dustbins have a capacity of 0.8 and 0.5 liters, respectively. They are not too small but must be emptied more than once during each vacuuming session.
Emptying the Triflex HX1’s dustbin is somewhat simple: turn the top lid counterclockwise a quarter to detach it from the vacuum, then continue twisting it counterclockwise until the hatch opens. I found myself reaching inside with my fingers to remove packed-in hair and dirt.
Emptying the Samsung Jet 90’s dustbin is a bit awkward and complicated since it involves many steps: Completely remove the dustbin from the unit (by pressing the button in the front), twist the top filter off, remove the cyclone, upturn the dust cup, and gravity will pull all the contents down. This complicated process can get your fingers dirty.
If you loathe how the Jet 90’s dustbin is emptied or have severe allergies, the Clean Station throws you a lifeline. It helps to shorten the complicated emptying process to two simple steps: detach the bin from the vacuum and put it on top of this smart power. Then all the dust and dirt will find their way down to a single-user dust bag inside the station. You will need to replace this disposable bag after several emptying sessions and clean the tower’s HEPA filter monthly.
I found two filters inside the Triflex HX1’s dust canister: a pre-filter and a fine dust filter. They are not labeled as HEPA grade, but they’re claimed to capture up to 99.98% of fine dust particles. These filters are non-washable and can be cleaned monthly by tapping against garbage to dislodge all the debris.
Conversely, the Samsung Jet 90’s 5-layer filtration system includes cyclone, micro, and HEPA exhaust filters. The first two filters are washable and should be washed every one to three months. The HEPA filter is not washable, and cleaning it is the same as for the Triflex HX1 filters – just give it a gentle tap.

User Interface
No Dyson-like trigger to hold down – I’m glad that there’s no trigger to hold down on these vacuums.
The Samsung Jet 90 has a high-tech LED screen that indicates the power mode selected and alerts when blockages are in the floorhead or when the air filter needs to be cleaned. There are also three thumb-click buttons: the center one used to turn the vacuum on/off, and two on either side used to select the desired power mode (Min, Mid, Max, and Wet). What about the downside? It doesn’t show battery life. I have to look at the three LED indicators on the battery to know when I need to give it a charge.
There is no eye-catching and fancy screen on the Miele Triflex HX1, and it is impossible to estimate how much runtime is left. It only has a slider on the handle to toggle between three suction settings: ‘1’, ‘2’, and ‘Max.’ The only catch is that, on the ‘2’ or ‘max’ settings, this vacuum can automatically choose the optimal brush power based on the surface type. It can even automatically stop the roller if it detects something tangled in the floorhead, such as rug tassels.
