If you are wondering which one to choose between LG CordZero vs Dyson V15, the following article is my personal opinion after having experienced both devices. I hope the information I give you will be useful. For a quick answer, the winner is Dyson V15.
Dyson V15 wins my heart thanks to its incredible performance. This machine has extremely strong suction, up to 240AW in boost mode. It can work smoothly on all surfaces and picks up large debris very efficiently. Another thing that I love is that it is relatively quiet.
LG CordZero is also a formidable opponent. It features two cleaning heads like the Dyson V15, so it’s also rather good at multi-surface cleaning. In particular, it comes with a portable charging dock, which allows users to charge and store the device anywhere. In addition, its HEPA filter also works very well.

LG CordZero vs Dyson V15: Differences
After examining the differences between these two vacuum cleaners, I found that Dyson V15 won 2:0 and tied 2 against LG CordZero. In spite of sharing many similar features, the V15 still outperforms its opponent with its cleaning performance and utilities. To learn more details, please read the breakdown below.
Cleaning performance
The winner: Dyson V15
Performance on hard floors
Both LG CordZero and Dyson V15 have an excellent job of cleaning hard floors. They can work well with all types of surfaces, such as hardwood floors, tile floors, laminate floors, and even dirt in cracks. These vacuums can pick up many sizes of debris with ease, including full-size Froot Loops.
Each machine comes with two main nozzles, one multi-surface cleaning head and the other a fluffy cleaning head. Their fluffy head is designed specifically for cleaning hard floors. It uses a soft brush roll so that you don’t have to worry the brush roll will scratch the floor. This cleaning head allows the vacuum to deal with larger debris as well as gently vacuum flooring.
However, the slim fluffy cleaning head of the Dyson V15 has a lower profile, which allows the machine to move more easily in tight spaces and under furniture. In addition, the V15’s head also features a laser to illuminate small particles on hard floors for thorough cleaning.
Performance on carpets
Besides their great performance on hard floors, these machines also clean carpets very effectively. The multi-surface cleaning head allows them to work well on both low- and high-pile carpets. This nozzle employs a dense and stiff bristle brush roll, which can dig deep into carpets and pulls out countless dirt.
So, what is the difference between the carpet cleaning performance of these two vacuums?
The motorized cleaning head of the LG CordZero works better on carpets than on hard floors. Although you can still use this nozzle for flooring, it will be fairly difficult for this vacuum to pick up large debris like breakfast cereal and Froot Loops. Also, since it doesn’t offer any height adjustment feature, it’s hard to push the unit on high-pile carpets.
Meanwhile, the multi-surface cleaning head of the Dyson V15 can pick up dirt well on both carpets and hard floors. You don’t even need to change the cleaning head when moving from carpeting to flooring. The multi-surface nozzle has a red switch on the top, which allows you to adjust the gates at the front of the nozzle. This adjusting action cuts down the suction power and makes it easier to roll the vacuum on thick carpets. Rest assured that you won’t have to sacrifice much suction.
Pet hair performance
Both machines are amazing for picking up pet hairs, whether you use the multi-surface or fluffy cleaning head. They not only pick up all pet hair and long hair from my floors and carpets, but they can also resist tangles.
My tests show that their multi-surface cleaning head doesn’t get tangles at all, which is a great point. As for the fluffy head, the LG CordZero’s one still sometimes gets wrapped by long hair. Luckily, the soft roller can be disassembled easily, so cleaning it shouldn’t be a problem.
Suction power
In this aspect, I would say that Dyson V15 has the upper hand. While the LG CordZero has a maximum suction power of approximately 140 AW, the Dyson V15 has a suction power of up to 240 AW in boost mode.
The V15 is equipped with a new digital motor, called the Hyperdymium motor, that can spin about 125,000 revolutions per minute, which generates more suction power than other previous models. Additionally, this machine also features the latest cyclone technology, which can capture even smaller particles of dust and debris.
Dirt bin and filtration
Tie
Dirt bin
Both machines are bagless vacuums, which means that all the dirt vacuumed is stored in a dust bin. These bins are made of clear plastic, so you can tell how full they are at a glance. They are also easy to empty and clean.
When it comes to the dustbin capacity, the bin of the Dyson V15 is almost twice as large as the LG CordZero’s. In my opinion, the V15’s dustbin is not really big, but enough that you don’t have to empty it too frequently.
Filtration
Dyson V15 Detect does not have a HEPA filter. This machine features a whole-machine filtration system, which includes multiple layers of filters designed to filter fine dust and allergens. According to Dyson, this system is capable of capturing 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, but they don’t call it a HEPA filter system. My experience shows that this system still filters out dirt and allergens quite well.
However, if you still prefer a HEPA filtration system, choose the Dyson V15 Detect Absolute instead. This vacuum is equipped with the same features as the Dyson V15 Detect. The difference is in their color, the HEPA filter system, and the wider range of accessories. So its price is also higher than the Detect version.
LG CordZero A9 comes with a 5-step filtration system, which employs 5 components, including a HEPA filter. This system is designed to provide high-efficiency air filtration and capture a wide range of airborne pollutants. The HEPA filter provides the final stage of filtration, capturing small particles such as allergens and bacteria, providing that the air expelled by the vacuum cleaner is clean and free of particles. This filter can trap 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns, including dust mites, pollen, bacteria, mold, and more.
What they all have in common is that all of their filters are washable and reusable, so you don’t need to waste money on new filters unless they are damaged.
Design and convenience
Tie
Maneuverability
Both machines have good maneuverability. They are all lightweight and compact, so they are easy to navigate. The Dyson V15 weighs 6.8 pounds, while the LG CordZero weighs only 5.63 pounds. Although their weight difference is not much, the CordZero is still lighter.
Their carrying handle is designed very firmly so users can easily pick up and carry the units. In addition, their cleaning heads can all be rotated to a relatively wide angle, allowing the machine to steer smoothly around furniture. In particular, the Dyson V15 comes with a laser slim fluffy cleaning head and a hair screw tool. These are low-profile nozzles that allow the machine to go deeper into tight nooks and crannies in your house.
Besides, these machines can also be used as handheld vacuums, which allows you to clean many various places in the house, such as stairs, ceilings, furniture, windows, etc. Moreover, each machine offers a wide range of attachments for different cleaning tasks.
With the LG CordZero, you can easily adjust the height of the telescoping wand better to suit your height or vacuum in tight spaces. However, even when extending the wand to its full length, it is still shorter than the Dyson V15’s wand.
Storage
Thanks to their compact size, these machines do not take up much space for storage.
Dyson V15 comes with a wall-mounted charging station, which is both a stand for hanging the device and a place to charge the battery. The charging station includes a dock for the vacuum cleaner as well as a place to store several other attachments.
LG CordZero is more convenient. In addition to the wall-mounted charging dock, the CordZero also has a freestanding charging stand that allows you to store the vacuum cleaner more flexibly. This charging stand also includes a docking station for the unit and a place to store other accessories. I prefer this type of storage base because I don’t need to put the machine in one place and also don’t have to drill holes to hang it on the wall.
Noise level
In this aspect, my tests show that LG CordZero is louder than Dyson V15. According to what I measured, the noise level of the V15 on hard floors is about 70.5 dB, while that of the CordZero is about 77 dB.
The Dyson V15 is pretty quiet. 70.5 decibels is equivalent to the noise level of an office environment. This sound level is not considered harmful to human hearing. With this level of noise, you can still talk on the phone while vacuuming.
As for the LG CordZero, I was hoping for a quieter machine like this. Its noise level exceeds the average noise level of a stick vacuum cleaner.
Battery and charging
Battery
Both machines feature lithium-ion batteries, which are known for their high energy density, durability, and safety. Regarding battery life, I highly recommend the LG CordZero.
The CordZero comes with two batteries with a total battery life of about 80 minutes. In fact, in normal mode, if you use the machine with the cleaning head, each battery can be used for about 37 minutes. In turbo mode, the machine can run for more than 12 minutes with both batteries.
Meanwhile, the Dyson V15 only employs a battery with a battery life of up to 60 minutes. My experience shows that the machine runs for about 65 minutes on the lowest setting while I use the cleaning head. In boost mode, the device only runs for about 9 minutes.
Charging
Dyson V15 takes about 4.5 hours to charge the battery fully. There are three ways for you to charge the device’s battery. With the first way, you just need to insert the device directly into the charging dock. The second way is to plug the charger cord into your vacuum and plug the other end into a power outlet. Alternatively, you can also remove its battery and charge it separately.
With the LG CordZero, you can charge it using a wall charger or a portable charging dock. Additionally, you can also remove the batteries and charge them separately, the same way you did with the Dyson V15. This machine takes about 3.5 hours to charge.
Utilities
The winner: Dyson V15
LCD display
The Dyson V15 features an LCD display on the top of the vacuum cleaner’s handle, which provides real-time information about the machine’s performance and battery life. The screen shows the following information such as remaining battery life, cleaning mode, filter maintenance alerts, and real-time performance. This feature allows users to make cleaning more efficient and effective while also providing important maintenance alerts to ensure that the vacuum cleaner remains in optimal condition.
Piezo sensor
Dyson V15 also employs a piezo sensor, which is designed to detect and measure the amount of dust and debris on a surface. This sensor sends out high-frequency sound waves that bounce back off the surface being cleaned, and the sensor measures the time it takes for the sound waves to return. Based on the time it takes for the sound waves to return, the sensor can calculate the amount of dust and debris on the surface, providing users with real-time feedback about the cleanliness of their home.
The information that the sensor collects about the number and size of particles vacuumed will be displayed on the LCD screen. When the machine is in Auto mode, detecting the amount of dust on the floor allows the machine to adjust the suction power accordingly to increase cleaning performance. This also saves the device and increases battery life.
