Welcome to the ultimate vacuum showdown of Dyson V15 vs Philips 8000. In this comparison, we’ll help you find the perfect cleaning companion by exploring its top features and performance. Let the battle begin!
Thanks to its 14 concentric cyclones system, Dyson V15 excels as the winner of the pair. This vacuum is lightweight, potent, and technologically advanced. The device is equipped with a dirt sensor for real-time particle counting and laser light to assist the cleaning process even further, and the HEPA filter is no joke either since it can capture particles as small as 0.3 microns. The Dyson V15 often outshines the Philips 8000 in terms of performance and adaptability.
The Philips 8000 is a powerful cordless stick vacuum cleaner designed to deliver efficient and thorough cleaning performance. Its most notable feature is the 360-degree suction nozzle that captures dust and dirt from all directions, significantly improving cleaning speed and efficiency. However, the vacuum is a tad noisier than V15, and its roller doesn’t have an anti-tangle feature.

Dyson V15 vs Philips 8000: Differences
Dyson V15 wins 3-0 and ties twice against Philips 8000 thanks to its advanced cleaning technologies and performance. I also really like its laser light which not only looks cool but also reveals the smallest dust particle.
Cleaning performance
Tie
Dyson V15
The Dyson V15 offers exceptional cleaning performance thanks to its advanced 14 concentric cyclones and powerful 230AW suction. Its High Torque cleaner head, which automatically adapts to different floor types, ensures optimal performance on carpets and hard floors.
You may also hear that the vacuum also features a real-time particle counter, which displays the amount and size of particles being collected, ensuring a thorough cleaning. Many users like seeing how the numbers jump, so I put this feature out there, but personally, I don’t think it can count to particle level like that.
Also, V15 wins thanks to its wide range of attachments, such as the mini motorized tool and soft dusting brush, which enables users to tackle various cleaning challenges, from pet hair to delicate surfaces. Its floor nozzle features anti-tangle feature as well, so cleaning per hair has been quite a light task for me.
Philips 8000
The Philips SpeedPro Max Series 8000 is a high-performance cordless stick vacuum cleaner designed for efficient and powerful cleaning across various floor types and surfaces. The vacuum’s unique 360-degree suction nozzle enables it to pick up dust and dirt from all directions, not just edge cleaning, allowing for a more efficient cleaning process. This design helps to reduce the number of rollovers, which I find very time-saving.
Charge and run time
Tie
For Dyson V15, the run times vary depending on the modes:
- Eco mode: 60-70 minutes
- Auto mode: 40 minutes
- Boost mode: 10 minutes
Philips 8000’s lithium-ion battery provides up to 70 minutes of continuous runtime, depending on the power mode used. This extended battery life allows for uninterrupted cleaning and reduces the need to recharge frequently. The exact battery run times are:
- Eco mode: 70 minutes
- Normal mode: 35 minutes
- Turbo mode: 28 minutes
Utilities
Winner: Dyson V15
The V15 is equipped with a laser dust detection system that illuminates fine dust particles, making it easier to spot and remove hidden dirt. I prefer the green laser light of V15 to the normal white LED light of Philips 8000. Of course, the latter can easily illuminate dust particles in dark areas, but the green light on V15 somehow makes them stand out even more, whether it’s in bright or dark spots. I believe it’s because the white light blends in with bright-colored debris, so it’s not as clear.
Also, Dyson V15 has a click-in or detachable battery that allows users to work with a few sets of batteries and avoid interrupting a large cleaning task. As for Philips 8000, the battery is sealed inside the vacuum, and the charging takes place at the docking station only. So compared to Dyson V15’s 60-minute run time, Philips 8000’s 70 minutes operational duration may not be that revolutionary.
Filters and dirt bins
Winner: Dyson V15
The HEPA filter in the Dyson V15 is designed to capture particles as small as 0.3 microns, effectively trapping allergens, dust, pet dander, and even bacteria and viruses. The design of a HEPA filter is based on several layers of fibrous material arranged in a random pattern to form a dense, tangled web. This level of filtration is particularly beneficial for those who suffer from allergies or asthma, as it can significantly reduce the number of airborne irritants in the home.
The Dyson V15’s HEPA filter is fully sealed, meaning that the air it expels has been thoroughly cleaned and purified. This is a significant advantage over other vacuum cleaners that may have HEPA filters but are not completely sealed, which can allow some contaminants to escape back into the room.
As for Philips 8000, I’m not very impressed by its foam filter, which is commonly found in much cheaper vacuums, not one in this price range. The filter is soft and can capture most large debris and dust particles, but having fine dust escaping is nothing rare. And it’s only one layer of filtration.
Regarding dust cup capacities, Philips 8000 has the higher ground with its 0.16 gallons cup while Dyson V15 has a 0.12-gallons.
Noise level
Winner: Dyson V15
It’s very logical that when we clean larger messes or run the vacuums on boost mode, they tend to make louder noises. But when I compare Dyson V15 and Philips 8000′ noise levels, I put them against the same dusty floor on medium mode, and what I notice is that Dyson V15 is significantly less noisy. Since I don’t have the tool, I can’t tell the decibels of the pair. But when I use Philips 8000, it tends to screech louder compared to V15, which produces a deeper sound.
