Check out my review for Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal vs Dyson Ball Animal 2! While both vacuums are highly potent with very strong suction, each has its unique features being a corded and cordless vacuum. And which one do I prefer, judging by their cleaning results? Dyson Ball Animal 2 still has my wholehearted support as the more formidable option for homeowners.
The winner Dyson Ball Animal 2 is famous for its 227AW suction power, ranking in the top spot of vacuums’ most potent suction performance! Through so many tests against small to large messes, I can confirm that the device works wonderfully on bare floors and low-pile carpets, not caring what kind of dry debris it’s working with. In addition, the model wins for its super long reach of up to 40ft, including the 30ft cord and 10ft flexible hose. You need it for your home!
As for the Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal, I still recommend it if you are an apartment owner! The device can run non-stop for 60 minutes with very little suction loss. Its max suction ranks at 150AW, not the highest, but it is very reasonable for a cordless vacuum. Many corded models don’t own such a good number. However, in-betweens, it takes about 3.5 hours to charge up fully. If you must clean a large section, waiting so long isn’t fun anymore!

Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal vs Dyson Ball Animal 2: Differences
Dyson Ball Animal 2 wins 3-1 and ties once against its opponent V10 Animal. It obviously has better suction power and is better designed to clean a larger house. The reach also is far higher than what V10 has to offer. But there are 2 sides to any coin. I will reveal all the good and bad things about both vacuums below!
Form
Winner: Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal
A cordless stick vacuum, such as the Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal, offers several conveniences compared to traditional corded vacuum cleaners. Here are some of the advantages of using a cordless stick vacuum:
- Portability: One of the most significant conveniences of a cordless stick vacuum is its portability. Because it runs on a rechargeable battery, you can easily carry it around the house without the hassle of cords or finding a power outlet. You can easily clean from room to room, up and down stairs, and even outside.
- Lightweight: Cordless stick vacuums are usually lighter than traditional vacuum cleaners, making it easier to maneuver and clean hard-to-reach places, such as under furniture or tight spaces. At 5.7 pounds, this device can be easily hauled around, facilitating the stairs’ cleaning.
- Easy to Store: Cordless stick vacuums have a slim profile and are designed to be stored easily in a closet or pantry. They take up less space than traditional vacuums and often come with wall-mounted docking stations that make it easy to store and recharge the vacuum.
These are the major reasons why Dyson V10’s form is better than Ball Animal 2. I can’t fit the latter model under low-profile furniture, but with the V10, I can clean under low sofas with ease.
Cleaning performance
Winner: Dyson Ball Animal 2
Regarding cleaning performance, nothing beats Dyson Ball Animal 2. In fact, this is the strongest vacuum that I have tested so far. With a 227AW, the highest on the market at the moment, this vacuum doesn’t leave anything behind on its trail. I can easily remove small to medium debris with this model, including dust, sand, pet hair, small cereals, and other debris that are commonly found indoors.
Also, due to the auto-adjust cleaner head, it’s not hard for me to deal with different floor types, especially bare floors and low-pile carpets. The device struggles a bit on high-pile ones, which is very common for any vacuum. No model can run away from the struggle when dealing with shaggy fibers.
As for Dyson V10 Animal, its 150AW suction makes it one of the top cordless vacuums on the market right now. Even though it isn’t as potent as Dyson Ball Animal 2, the model still is a formidable candidate and can efficiently pick up hair strands from a low-pile carpet. Of course, it requires more rollovers than Dyson Animal 2 due to the weaker suction. But it’s still a good pick for small homes and standard cleaning.
Utilities
Winner: Dyson Ball Animal 2
Dyson Ball Animal 2 has an impressive reach of 10ft with its flexible hose. And since its suction power is high, the hose’s cleaning performance is also impressive. I usually clean larger trash pieces with them when they get too big for the floor nozzle’s slim entrance. With the addition of the crevice tool, the reach can shoot up to 15 – 17 ft!
As for Dyson V10, its stick design already plays the biggest part in its reach, if I install a crevice tool, I can reach up to 4.6 ft to clean low ceilings, top staircases, or bookshelves. However, compared to Dyson Animal Ball 2, this isn’t a very impressive parameter.
One impressive utility that both vacuums have is the anti-tangle brushroll. This nozzle allows impeccable cleaning against pet or human hair with no tangle issue. I have tested them, and they work the same way they claim to.
Filtration system
Tie
The Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal and Dyson Ball Animal 2 vacuum cleaners have advanced filtration systems that effectively remove allergens and other particles from your home.
The Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal has a fully sealed filtration system that captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. This includes common allergens like pollen and dust mites and larger particles like pet hair and dander. The vacuum features a pre-filter that captures larger particles and a HEPA filter (post-filter) that captures smaller particles.
The filtration system is designed to trap these particles and prevent them from being released back into the air as you vacuum. And from my experience with them, they are doing a great job keeping vacuuming safe for users with asthma or allergies. They don’t leak much dust when I vacuum and have never inserted me in a dust cloud!
Price and value
Winner: Dyson Ball Animal 2
With a better price point, what does Dyson Animal Ball 2 offers to make its value more desirable than V10? For me, its suction power and consistency are the highlighted deciding factors. Of course, they might not be gold factors for users that own apartments or don’t deep-clean regularly, but I value the capacity to hold on to the 227AW suction for over an hour without recharging.
So, since it’s cheaper and more convenient in some aspects, why shouldn’t I side with Dyson Animal 2?
With that said, Dyson V10 Animal has its own winning points that Animal Ball 2 can’t surpass, including the slim frame that is so lightweight to haul around and slip under furniture. It’s definitely more convenient to move around the house and lift to clean the staircase without changing into another cleaning nozzle.
