Between the Hoover WindTunnel 3 vs Bissell CleanView 2486, the WindTunnel 3 is better for heavy-duty cleaning than the Bissell Cleanview 2486.
The Hoover WindTunnel 3 has superior suction, a brushroll shutoff pedal, headlights, a longer cord and hose, and a HEPA filtration with an odor-absorbed carbon layer. Therefore, it is more appropriate when you need to deep clean your entire house. However, it is heavier to push than its rival.
Meanwhile, the Bissell Cleanview 2486 is considered a runner-up because it has lower suction power, no option to turn off the brush roll – can damage the carpeted floor when using the hose in the upright mode, and non-HEPA filtration. However, it is a great pick for cleaning on a daily basis as it is lightweight and has an impressive sucking performance.

Hoover WindTunnel 3 vs Bissell CleanView 2486: Differences
Between Hoover WindTunnel 3 vs Bissell CleanView 2486, I chose the Hoover WindTunnel 3 as the winner because it has better cleaning performance and filtration system. In other words, the Hoover WindTunnel 3 wins 2-0 against the Bissell CleanView 2486.
Cleaning performance
Winner: Hoover WindTunnel 3
Suction power and control
Between Hoover WindTunnel 3 vs Bissell CleanView 2486 suction, the Hoover WindTunnel 3 wins for its impressive suction strength. Its superior suction is also expressed via its motor amps and wattages.
The Hoover WindTunnel 3 has a motor with 12 amps and 1440 watts, which is considerably more powerful than that of the Bissell CleanView 2486 (870 watts & 8 amps). I’ve read several reviews and tried it on my own, the suction of this Hoover is incredible. It is impressively so strong that the cleaning head is likely to stick to the floor!
Though the suction specifications of the Bissell CleanView 2486 are not as strong as those of the WindTunnel 3, it does have plenty of suction, which is sufficient to pick up fine stuff in one pass most of the time.
Brush roll system
The brush roll design of the Bissell CleanView 2486 is relatively better than that of the Hoover WindTunnel 3. Its bristles dig deeper and give more agitations for vacuuming carpeted surfaces. The OnePass technology could be attributed to this advantage of the Bissell 2486.
On the other hand, the Hoover WindTunnel 3 has the brushroll shutoff functionality, which allows the users to manually turn off the brush beater motion for cleaning the bare floor or using the hose to vacuum above-floor surfaces. This functionality can reduce debris scattering and prevent the brush roll to destroy the floor surfaces when the machine is in the upright mode and the hose is used.
Head cleaning nozzle
The height-adjustment head nozzle is featured on these two Hoover and Bissell vacuum models. However, the WindTunnel 3 has more height settings (7 settings) than the CleanView 2486 (5 settings). This means you can adjust the nozzle height more precisely, supporting cleaning efficiency.
Floor compatibility
For the Hoover WindTunnel 3 vs Bissell CleanView 2486 compatibility, I can say that they are good vacuum cleaners for both carpeted and bare floor surfaces. I mean they perform very well on carpets, rugs, hard floors, and crevices, picking up all-size debris and pet furs.
However, the Bissell CleanView is a bit better for carpet cleaning because I noticed it provides deeper agitation to carpets, allowing more dirt particles, like sand and glitter, and hairs to be picked into the dirt bin. On the bare floor, it picks up loose dirt very well; and to reduce the debris scattering, increasing the height settings of the nozzle can help.
The impossibility to turn off the brush-roll action is what I do not like about the Bissell Cleanview 2486. When being in the upright mode for using the hose, there is no way I can shut off the beater, thus I have a carpet section ripped because bristles tore up its fibers.
Meanwhile, the Hoover WindTunnel 3 vacuums effectively on most surfaces. It has strong suction and a pedal to turn off the brush roll. Therefore, I can stop the brushroll turning when using the hose, which is very useful to protect my carpet! It can suck the embedded dirt on bare floors. However, be careful to use it on the stick-titled floor since it can lift up the title owing to its strong suction.
Design & Convenience
Tie!
- Lightweight
The Hoover WindTunnel 3 is 18 pounds while the Bissell Cleanview 2486 is 12.5 pounds. So, the CleanView is much lighter than the WindTunnel 3. The lightweight feature will significantly support the maneuverability of the vacuum. Thus, I feel that moving the Bissell CleanView 2486 is less tedious than pushing the Hoover WindTunnel 3.
- Reach range
In this aspect, the Hoover WindTunnel 3 offers a greater reach range than the Bissell 2486. It is because the WindTunnel 3 is equipped with a much longer hose and electric cord. Specifically, the hose and cord lengths of the WindTunnel 3 are 12 ft. and 40 ft., respectively, which is almost double that of the Bissell Cleanview 2486.
- Headlights
The Hoover WindTunnel 3 has headlights while the Bissell CleanView 2486 does not. Nevertheless, I do not appreciate the headlights on Hoover WindTunnel 3 because it is dim. I wish it was LED lights for higher brightness and a more directed light path.
Dirt bin & Filtration
Winner: Hoover WindTunnel 3
The Hoover WindTunnel 3 also has a relatively larger dirt bin (1.42 quarts) than the Bissell 2486 (0.9 quarts). This means the Hoover model can hold more dirt without interrupting to get emptied in the middle of the cleaning session.
For Hoover WindTunnel 3 vs Bissell CleanView 2486 filtration, I like the HEPA filtration with carbon layer on the WindTunnel 3. It is because the HEPA filter helps limit the dust and allergens while the carbon layer absorbs the unpleasant odors from the collected dirt, giving more fresh air out of the machine.
Meanwhile, the Bissell CleanView 2486 does not have HEPA filtering media. Though it gives no unpleasant smell while vacuuming, there may be micro dust particles emitted from the vacuum, as the filters may not trap all of them inside.
Both machines, on the other hand, have reusable filters, meaning that you can wash the filters and put them back into the vacuum. Remember to let filter foams completely dry before putting them back to ensure your vacuum function properly.
