Hoover Windtunnel 3 vs Bissell Pet Hair Eraser: If I had to choose only one of them, I would completely lean towards the Hoover Windtunnel 3.
The Hoover Windtunnel 3, although it doesn’t have great maneuverability (since it doesn’t have a rotating head), still performs well on bare floors and carpets. Plus, it is fitted with some nifty features such as the WindTunnel 3 technology, a system check indicator, a motor thermal protection system, and a height adjustment setting. It also offers better reach thanks to its 30 ft power cord.
The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is able to pick up pet hair effectively on carpets and can easily remove most small and large debris from these surfaces. It is quite heavy and bulky but easy to maneuver, thanks to its rotating head.

Hoover Windtunnel 3 vs Bissell Pet Hair Eraser: Differences
The Hoover Windtunnel 3 wins (4-1) against the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser. The former has a longer power cord, giving users a longer reach, and a larger dirt bin. In addition, it comes with some nice-to-have features, which I’ll mention right now.
Cleaning Performance
The Winner: The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser
Compatible Floor Type
- Bare Floors
The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is not ideal for vacuuming bare floors. It struggles a bit to such up pet hair and also has a hard time collecting large debris, which can get caught in its front cover. Fortunately, it can pick up all small debris, such as rice, though.
The Hoover Windtunnel 3 works better on bare floors. It can pick up a good amount of large and small debris but struggles a bit with pet hair.
- Carpets
The Hoover WindTunnel 2 is decent for use on carpets. It can pick up a lot of small and large debris but struggles just a bit with pet hair.
On the flip side, the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is great for vacuuming carpets. It is able to suck up most pet hair but struggles a bit more with small and large debris. Its performance at least stays consistent as its dirt cup fills.
Maneuverability
The WindTunnel 3 has disappointing maneuverability. It is heavy, and its head can’t rotate from side to side. It can go under tables and couches but has trouble reaching far underneath them.
The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser has good maneuverability. It has a rotating head, which is great for navigating around objects. Still, this model is a bit tall, so it can have trouble getting into tight spaces, such as beneath your table or couch.
Design and Convenience
The Winner: The Hoover Windtunnel 3
Dimension And Weight
The Hoover WindTunnel 3 vacuum’s dimension is 16.5 x 12.5 x 34 inches, and its weight is 18.1 pounds. Meanwhile, the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser measures 14.57 x 12.80 x 44.29 inches, and it weighs 14.11 lbs. So the first one is more compact but heavier than the second one.
These machines might feel somewhat heavy to pick up and carry around when cleaning, especially for the elderly. But I think it’s just a small minus, as it’s rare for old people to take on this duty. Regarding storing, although these units have a fairly wide footprint, putting them at an angle is okay.
Their power cords are not retractable, which is a minus point of these vacuums. But I don’t think wrapping up and unwinding these cords is kind of a pain.
Reach
The Hoover Windtunnel 3 features a 30-foot power cord, giving you maximum mobility to clean a large space. You will get extra reach with this machine to vacuum all the corners in your house without thinking of where to plug it in.
The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum’s power cord is around 25 feet, 5 feet shorter than its competitor. But I think this length is more than enough to clean large areas comfortably without switching sockets too often.
Filter
The Winner: The Hoover Windtunnel 3
The Hoover Windtunnel 3 features three filters: a washable pre-motor, a post-motor HEPA filter, and a carbon filter that isn’t washable.
You can wash the first filter periodically and reuse it during the warranty period, which is five years. The HEPA filter can’t be washed, so if it is dirty, just take it out and tap it over your dustbin to remove debris and dirt. The carbon filter is located underneath the HEPA filter and is also not washable, and it provides odor absorption, which is particularly useful for pet owners.
The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser, on the other hand, has two filters, including a pre-motor filter and a post-motor HEPA filter. The pre-motor filter is under the top cover of the dirt compartment, and it can be washed with a light detergent. Meanwhile, the post-motor HEPA filter can’t be washed, and if debris/dust accumulates on it, just gently tap it against a trash container.
As we can see, the Hoover Windtunnel 3 has more filters, which makes me believe it deserves to win this round. Of course, you don’t have to agree with this.
Dirt Compartment
The Winner: The Hoover Windtunnel 3
The Hoover WindTunnel 3 features a spacious 0.38 gallons (around 1.42 liners) dirt bin, while the dirt cup of the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser has a capacity of 0.22 gal (approximately 0.85 L).
Of course, the fact that the first one wins this round is unquestionable, but I’d like to say 0.22 gal is more than enough to clean a large area without interruptions.
Utilities
The Winner: The Hoover Windtunnel 3
Height adjustment setting
The Hoover Windtunnel 3 can vacuum various floor types effectively, from laminated floors to carpets, from marble to hardwood. This machine has a height control setting, allowing you to adjust the height of its brush head accordingly, depending on the type of floor you want to vacuum. Its height control knob is situated right at the head of the machine for convenient use. Unfortunately, the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser does not have this adjustment setting.
Safety features
The Windtunnel 3 is equipped with a System Check Indicator, which is an alarm that will notify you whenever the filter is full or when the machine has a blockage. Likewise, its Motor Thermal Protection System will alert you if the unit overheats. During an emergency, the motor will shut off automatically to prevent any possible damage to yourself and your floors.
Hoover Windtunnel 3 vs Bissell Pet Hair Eraser: Similarities
Headlights
Both Hoover Windtunnel 3 vs Bissell Pet Hair Eraser are equipped with headlights, which allow users to spot hard-to-see debris and dust in dimly lit or darker areas for optimal cleaning results.
Many users claim that this feature is redundant as they can always turn the lights in their room or the areas they want to clean, but that’s highly debatable. I bet you’ll be grateful for this built-in headlight when vacuuming places with no lights or corners that the lights of your rooms cannot reach.
Build Quality
Both Hoover Windtunnel 3 vs Bissell Pet Hair Eraser have mediocre build quality. They are mainly made of plastic, which is overall sturdy but could possibly break if dropped.
Despite having various parts to assemble, these vacuums are easy to assemble, and everything fits well together. You don’t need to be an expert or have specialized tools to get the job done.
